We've survived the F L U ........

We did it. We survived the I-N-F-L-U-E-N-Z-A.....
Shhh, dont say it too loudly, it might come back. (knocks on wood)....what seems like an eternity, and well, wasssss *hiss*....we were down over a month with the stupid stuff. Its nasty, dont let it fool you.....

And to think of all that time, I spent sanitizing prior...doorknobs, bannisters, lightswitches, other people....
Ok, ok, so Im a bit obsessive, Ive never said I'm not...but all that time Lysol-ing and disinfecting, for what?
A more powerful bug? A smarter wiser, "I'll get you my pretty, and your little dog too!" anyway, bug? Ok, ok, so the dog didnt get it.

As for the baby? I made her.
Not literally, I mean....I did. I mean, well....you know what I mean.
She'll be on eBay later....I think she's the only one in the house that escaped "the bug".....thank God. At least someone did!

I'll be back with the link later.... (Im back, click on pic)
Dont let my flu-bug-incessantly-whining-pathetic-poor-me-post scare you off....wait.....dont go......hold on....were healthy now, I swear.
I wont sanitize anymore, I promise .....at least not the lightswitches.
Ok, ok, not the doorhandles either...and not the dog. I wont do it, I promise.....The OCD is getting better, I swear..........
*Grabs can of Lysol & sprays................*

Its Alive.....A-a-a-li-i-i-i-ve......

*Hides face in shame*

I cannot believe Ive been this bad at blogging.....man, do I suck or what?
Ok, do NOT answer that. Pfffttt......

But I have reasons.
No really. I do. I swear.
Seriously, I do.....there were 3 birthdays, 1 party & 1 pneumonia.

What? Come again, you say?
So, see? I have good reasons as to why....
Now, if it was just 3 birthdays and 1 party, well....I may not have been off the hook as easy....but throw in a case of pneumonia....Man....Now THAT's a good reason.

So poor Lauren is the *un*lucky one with the pneumonia.
We spent most of Saturday evening in the E.R.
And for anyone who has kids, you all know that its never "just"
a trip to the E.R. It's like a minimum of 3-4 hours, end of story.

They should hang a sign on the front entrance....Plan to Stay until next season... Plan to stay until your irritated....Plan to stay until your next Birthday.....Plan to stay until you are soo tired of waiting, they have you thrown out for vulgar language and random obscene gestures.

And for as progressed that our hospital here is, you'd think that humans will be replaced with robots soon....there's some bedside manner for ya!
I'm just complaining, I know....It could always be worse.

The E.R. Doc, even spoke English. And spoke it well. Very well.
I always get paranoid when a Foreign Intern waltzes in....I wait with bated breath to see if he can speak English....
Its sorta like going to those quicky nail salons, and everyone's Asian.

But you.....

You KNOW they are talking about you. Or how stupid your hair looks, or they are making fun of your outfit, your shoes...the nail color you picked out, etc.

Oh wow, I guess that's not a great correlation is it?

Oh well you get what I'm saying....dontcha?

So anyway....I had Lauren to the doctor just last week...within 2 days later, she had developed a full case of Pneumonia.
So keep your kiddies checked....without an Xray they would NOT have picked it up, and she would have been hospitalized by today, if we hadn't caught it in time.

On a Beady lil' level....I have some NEW glass to play with!
Calm down, I know how excited you are, but you must get a grip, now.

The new CIM's Berry, and a purple to die for.
Well...I wouldn't really die for it...but if I was into that sorta thing, its the perfect color....all grapey and yummy.

I'll be back.....just hold your breath....

No, slash that. Don't hold your breath, I don't want to be responsible for anything......

Godspeed.............................Lori

28 Sleeps till...........

Omigosh, there are only 28 sleeps till Christmas.
I cannot believe that another year has come and gone.
It truly amazes me that its almost 2009.

I don't know about your kids, but my kids are soo excited about
Christmas this year, its really quite fun, given the youngest is 9 and the oldest is 19.
I do miss Christmas's of yesteryear when I would stay up for
hours on end wrapping toys, filling stockings with stuffers and the wild
doe eyed look on my lil ones faces when coming down the stairs.

Christmas is truly a magical time of year.
Now that we have 5 kids and toys arent the main dish under the tree anymore, December is just one of the best months of the year.

We dipped our chocolate covered pretzels this past weekend and rolled em in red, white and green sprinkles...mmmm....
I dont like all those kits out there, I mean I like the molds for the chocolate, but the actual chocolate sucks....so I use Nestle Toll House chips with a small tablespoon of shortening....works like a charm and Im a dark chocolate lover, so its truly magic on your taste buds.

I know Im all over the Christmas Spirit and we havent even eaten Turkey yet, but I cannot WAIT to stuff my face tomorrow....
I am getting up early to help my mom cook and sticking a beef tenderloin in the oven tonite...mmmm.....Why is it that the Holidays are focused around eating?? lol...

There is NOTHING in the world like a beef tenderloin, its truly succulent and soo tender you can cut it with your fork.
The eating just doesnt END...but its the holidays and I think thats a great excuse, dont you??

Everyones feeling better today, that flu is NASTY I tell you....
N-A-S-T-Y. And it lasts like freegan forever...ok, ok about a week, but it feels like forever....the muscle aches, headache, stiff joints, foaming at the mouth. Ok, ok, so Im exaggerating, so what.

I just wanted to step in and tell all my wonderful readers
to have a wonderful fattening Turkey Day and may you all feel the peace and warmth of family during this time of year.

Dont forget to make a wish if you get the wishbone in your turkey...
Dreams DO come true.
